THE ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY FACULTY

The Engineering Technology Faculty was created on July 27, 2011. It is headed by a candidate of technical sciences, assistant professor, Balytskyi Ihor Ivanovych.

The faculty carries out educational activity for the officers of Commanding Staff Training Faculty, cadets and students of other faculties at full-time and part-time courses, both based on the governmental order and on the paid basis – at the expense of physical (legal) persons:

for the Bachelor’s degree level in the speciality of “Automobile Transport” with qualification of the “Bachelor of motor transport” and “Commanding officer of major SBGSU units”;

for the Bachelor’s degree level in the speciality of Telecommunications and radiotechnics;

for the “Master’s” degree level in the speciality “Automobile Transport” and the qualification “Master – Engineer of Automobile Transport”, “Commanding officer of major SBGSU units”

for the Bachelor’s degree level, specialization – “Quartermaster’s officer”.

The main task of the Engineering Technology Faculty is to provide training for the border guard officers responsible for engineering, logistics and communication issues.

THE DEPARTMENT OF VEHICLES AND SPECIAL EQUIPMENT

The department was established on January 1, 2010 on the basis of the Department of Automotive and Military Vehicles. It is headed by the Doctor of technical sciences, Assistant professor, Colonel Otashevskyi Serhii Anatoliovych.

It provides automotive training for skillful and efficient use of standard equipment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, including granting licenses/operators’ permits for the right to drive various categories of vehicles, as well as:

planning, organization and maintenance of vehicles’ safe operation;

organization of road transportation;

analysis of the efficiency of the system of equipment use;

estimation of a vehicles’ technical condition, their technical maintenance and repairs;

organization of drivers-mechanics’ training, provision of technical property and spare parts.

The department delivers training in the following major subjects:

“Basics of vehicle design”

“Hydraulics, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits”

“Fundamentals of technical diagnostics”

“Fundamentals of vehicles production technology and repair”

“Organization of road transportation”

“Vehicle training and combat vehicles”

THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING SUPPORT AND TECHNICAL MEANS OF BORDER PROTECTION

The department was established on April 11, 2002 on the basis of the Department of the Army engineering and technical support. It is headed by the Doctor of technical sciences, Associate professor, Colonel SIVAK Vadym Anatoliovych.

It provides training for the specialists in the field of border engineering, application of technical means in border guarding, namely:

  • organization of the use of optical, opto-electronic, lighting, thermal imaging and radar surveillance devices;
  • planning and installing of engineering facilities at a state border sector.

The department delivers training in the following major subjects:

“Border guarding engineering support”

“Technical means of border security”

THE DEPARTMENT OF LOGISTICS

The Logistics Department was established on February 24, 1993. It is headed by the Candidate of veterinary sciences, Associate professor, Colonel KRAVCHUK Vasyl Vasyliovych.

It provides graduates with basic and specialized knowledge, skills and abilities in managing the resource support of the SBGSU units.

The department participates in training of the officers of operational and tactical level for the “Master’s” degree of education and of the tactical level – for the “Bachelor’s” degree. In addition, the Logistics Department carries out training of future officers of the service support units in the following spheres: food supply, material maintenance, petroleum, oil and lubricants (POL) service,  housing and quartermaster`s support of SBGSU units.

The following disciplines are taught by the department instructors:

  • “Tactical Medicine”
  • “Organization and planning of POL supply”
  • “Operation and repair of buildings and facilities”

 

THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION, AUTOMATION AND CYBERSECURITY

The Department was established on February 24, 1993. It is headed by the Doctor of technical sciences, Associate professor, Colonel STRELBITSKYI Mykhailo Anatoliovych.

It provides training in communication, management, information security in special information and telecommunication systems and networks, administration of special purpose networks, namely:

  • organization and management of communication;
  • operation of telecommunication networks and network equipment;
  • development and setting of system and application software;
  • control and diagnostics of protocols, interfaces and nodes of telecommunication networks and communication systems;
  • cyber threats prevention, detection, and countering;
  • management in the field of information security.

The main subjects taught by the department are:

  • “Organization of communication”
  • “Communication at the border units”
  • “Software and hardware systems of border units”
  • “Special communication of the SBGSU”

THE DEPARTMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND RADIO ENGINEERING

The Department was established in May 2017. It is headed by the Candidate of technical sciences, Associate professor, Lieutenant Colonel CHESANOVSKYI Ivan Ivanovych.

It provides:

  • basic training of cadets on the theoretical foundations of the of electronic devices functioning;
  • study of theoretical foundations of information and telecommunication systems;
  • formation of skills in organization, management, analysis and planning of information flows;
  • formation of skills of development and adjustment of system and application software;
  • control and diagnostics of protocols, interfaces and nods of telecommunication networks and communication systems, information security management;
  • formation of skills in organization and administration of general and special purpose computer networks;
  • basic training on creation and administration of electronic databases.

The main disciplines taught at the department are:

“Electric circuits theory”

“The theory of electric coupling”

“Information systems”

“Digital equipment and microprocessors”

THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SCIENTIFIC AND ENGINEERING DISCIPLINES

The department of general scientific and engineering disciplines was established in March 1993. It is headed by the Doctor of technical sciences, Associate professor Colonel RACHOK Roman Vasyliovych.

It conducts training on fundamental disciplines in natural sciences, professional and practical training; provides basic skills for:

  • security of personnel and protection of the population in dangerous and emergency situations;
  • calculation and design of typical parts and assembly units;
  • solving of professionally-oriented and engineering tasks using knowledge about physical phenomena and regularities;
  • engineering and economic calculations;
  • use of mathematical methods in the study of general scientific, engineering, technical and special disciplines.

The main subjects taught by the department are:

– “Higher mathematics”

– “Theory and applied mechanics”

– “Resistance of Materials”

– “Theory of machines and mechanisms”

 

THE TRAINING COURSE

The training course is a subdivision that provides academic-educational process, organizes cultural and patriotic events, supervises cadets’ daily duties and activities.

Having obtained a bachelors’ degree, graduates are appointed to primary officer’s positions in the SBGSU units, namely:

  • Officer of automobile support section;
  • Officer of the engineering department;
  • Officer of resource support units;
  • Communication and information security units’ officer;
  • Senior border guard inspector.
